Professionally I have been an audiologist for a decade.I am committed to supporting patients/clients through a health & wellbeing lens.
Throughout I have demonstrated empathy, leadership, integrity. true care and embraced reflective practice. My time has been spent predominantly in the specialist areas of paediatrics & adults with learning disabilities diagnostics & (re)habilitation.
Working closely with paediatric audio-vestibular medicine, oncology, Pulmonary cillia dyskinesia multi-disciplinary team Learning Disabilities health team, dementia, learning disabilities mental health team, Down Syndrome organisations, special educational need coordinators, teachers of the Deaf/hearing impaired & in Serious Case Conferences involving the safeguarding of vulnerable adults, children & young people.
I am currently working in an adult diagnostics team. Where I am undergoing specialist training in vestibular (balance/dizziness) diagnostics and Auditory Processing Disorder( APD). Working closely with audio-vestibular medicine, ENT, neuro-otology & oncology.
I am regularly involved in supporting families of children & adults with Down Syndrome, ADHD, adults with learning disabilities, people in care homes & assisted living, young people who have experienced school exclusion, young people with criminal records/ prison leavers & young care leavers.
I fully embrace complimentary health & wellbeing sustaining practices & techniques that can empower self-care and as a result shift paradigms & patterns. To better support patients/clients, who are finding it challenging to navigate through their experience; so that they may have the life. they want Including breathwork(nasal), humming & mindfulness meditation.
