Practitioner (Level 1)
Associate Professor Dr Albinca Pesek began her academic career at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana, where she graduated at the Department of Music Education and at the Faculty of Arts at the Department of Educational Sciences. She prepared her Masters degree on Musical Abilities Findings and Problems in Weimar (Germany) and her doctoral dissertation on Children, Parents and Preschool Music Education in Connecticut, in the USA. She defended both dissertations at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana. She gained her first work experience at the Music School in Grosuplje as a teacher of the piano and music theory. After five years as an Assistant at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana, she joined the Faculty of Education in Maribor, where she has been lecturing on didactics of music education for over twenty years. She is the author of the first monograph in the field of music education and psychology. in Slovenia and author of didactic material for music education for all grades of primary school. In recent years, she has felt her mission to be the research and implementation of sound, music and dance therapy into different age groups – from kindergarten children to the elderly. She gained experience in the therapeutic field through her studies and practical work in different parts of the world (Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, China, Croatia, France, Greece, India, Ireland and Slovenia). In October 2016 she started therapies as a Tomatis® Practitioner (Level 1).
